Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Heb 10:25).
Oh let me always find a place,
Within the temples of thy grace;
Till God command my last remove,
To dwell in temples made above!
There are many exhortations that center around the “Day Approaching”, “That Day”, and “That Great Day.”
I have seen the benefit of fellowship. Also, the closeness of worshiping together with those of like faith cannot be compared to any other. The strength we derive from each other is priceless. There have been times, as I’m sure you can attest, when we come to a worship service so tired, worn, bedraggled, spiritually and mentally drained, to the point of exhaustion and ready to give up. A brother or sister greets you and recognizes your dilemma, gives a smile and/or a word of encouragement, and immediately a refreshing floods your heart, mind, and spirit.
We must realize that the Day of the Lord is fast approaching. Lest any should be crushed beneath the weight of heavy loads they bear, we should do all we can to help bear those burdens. Scripture declares, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal 6:2). We can readily identify with those under such burdens, because we’ve been the recipient of God’s grace, mercy, compassion, and love as He came to us in a time of burdensome need and lifted it from us. May we follow His great example!
