Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) …if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Is it understood that this verse includes everyone, friends, family, enemies? I stand in wonderment how the simplest things can interfere with relationships. Some little thing done, a word spoken, the wrong kind of reaction, all tend to put us in the place exactly where the devil wants us, that is, at odds with other. It is really important for us to realize how gleeful the devil becomes when he sees the pettiness with which some treat others, especially a brother or sister, biological or within the church family. He is quick to jump on those situations, and I guarantee, will make them worse. He will make us see all the faults of the other person, and blind us to our own.
It’s time Christians take the big log out one’s own eye before trying to remove the splinter from others’ eyes (See Matthew 7:5) and simply get along.
