The True Light

From Pastor’s Desk: 1-25-15

John 1:9-10 (NIV) The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

Still true today. Many are still refusing to recognize Him. Sadly, I think this seeps over into church rationale. We claim to know Him, but fail to recognize really Who He is, and what He does. Some sit and “stew” in situations, brought low by them, and accept their “lot” in life and simply do not cry out to the only One Who can help them. They stumble around in the darkness of circumstance, being hidden in the valley of despair, despondency, anxiety, frustration, and fear, content to stay there because they see no way out.

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…” (John 14:6). He was, is, and always will be the One Who makes a way when there seems to be none, because He IS the Way. If you find your circumstances today more than you can bear, your valley so deep, dark, and long that you cannot see a mountain top ahead, your trial so depressing, discouraging, and fearful that you can hardly breathe, look to Him Who is the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
