Compassion and Unfailing Love

From Pastor’s Desk: 4-16-17

Lamentations 3:31-32 …men are not cast off by the Lord forever. 32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.

In Bible study last evening we talked about a time when God can count our faith as righteousness as He did Abraham’s. Is it at the beginning of our “Faith walk” or is it somewhere along the way? We concluded that it is a “Heart thing” as God alone really knows our heart’s condition. He knows, in the beginning, whether we are going to stay true to Him and follow His direction, and abide in His word.

He knows every time we stumble and fall. He also knows whether we are going to get back up and go on from there. He will not, as the verse declares, cast us off forever. “Ups and downs” and “Ins and outs” will come, most assuredly, but He is ever faithful and true, compassionate, and His love so great that it is unfailing toward His children.

Aren’t you glad that we serve a God, the only true and living God, that doesn’t give up on us, even though He sees every mistake, and yes, sin(s) that we make?

If you are struggling with anything today, know for certain that God is not through with you yet. It’s not over until HE says it’s over!
