From Pastor’s Desk:
Isaiah 12:4 In that day you will say: “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
“In that day…” That day is, of course, closer than it has ever been. Skeptics will say that we Christians have been saying that for a long time. But with things happening currently, the world stage is being set for “that day.” Signs are everywhere! Oh, I know, signs are simply signs, but very important in God’s design of the end times. They are there to point us to the coming of Jesus for His church.
Don’t get so focused on the signs that you lose heart. If you do, it will entangle you with exasperating, frustrating, burdensome, and even fearful thoughts. When that happens you get a perspective that does lend to an attitude of gratitude.
Isaiah is saying that even in those days where the “signs of the times” are prevalent, the Christian can still give thanks to the Lord and call on His name, and proclaim until the very end that His name is exalted.
If you haven’t read the Bible all the way through, it would behoove you to do so. Pay attention to the end. As one person has (and repeated quite often) stated, “I’ve read the back of the Book, and WE WIN!”
That certainly and unequivocally gives us cause to be eternally thankful!
