2 Peter 3:10 …the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
Admittedly, my remarks may be “tweaking” the context of this verse somewhat, but, here it is.
Transparency is promised in many aspects of life without ever being so. The day of the Lord will put an end to all that. There will be nothing hidden from that day forward as “everything…will be laid bare.”
Sins that have been cloaked under the guise of “religiocity” will be exposed as what it is, and in whom. Jesus, in Luke 8:17, said “…all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.”
It will not be a pretty picture for those who have lived with sin “hidden” in their lives. As has been said, you might hide it from others, but you can’t hide it from God. Sad thing is, on the day of the Lord, you will no longer be able to hide it from others.
It will be a time of TOTAL transparency. My personal opinion (and conviction) is to live transparent in Christ, before God, and others now, with everything “under the blood,” than be exposed suddenly with no hope of “fixing” it at the last moment.
