Luke 2:6-7 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Borrowing from a recent post, “God entered the world in one of the lowliest symbols to a farming culture—a feeding trough…Galilee is regarded as the lowest elevation point on the Earth…God came in humble fashion in order to relate to the poorest groups of people in Israel.” – Pastor Dave Whitehead.
From the very beginning (birth) there was no room for the Lord. From that time, throughout history, many have tried to destroy the message of Christmas. Many have refused to “make room for Him” in their lives. Today, more than ever, it seems, there is less and less room for Him in the world.
Lest I get “preachy” at this point, let it suffice for me to say that the continuing responsibility of each individual is to grant Him room in his/her life.
It always was, and remains, a choice! It is the most important choice you will ever make. The result of your choice will be the difference of where you spend eternity, heaven or hell.
Well, I realize with that last statement that my endeavor to not get “preachy” was to no avail, so let me finish with this. It IS a choice each person has to make for him/herself. No one person can make the choice for another.
Decide this day to make “room” for Christ Jesus in your heart!
