Torn and Wounded

From Pastor’s Desk:

Hosea 6:1-2 “Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. 2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us that we may live in his presence.

***

The one who has torn something to pieces has full knowledge of how to put it back together. He who inflicts the wound will know what it takes to bind it up. Satan and the world will tear you to pieces but have no interest in healing you. They will injure you, but do not have compassion and mercy to bind up your wounds. They will leave you torn and injured without help. They tear and injure with the intent to destroy you.

Not so with God! If you return to Him He has healing in His wings (SEE Malachi 4:2). There is a balm in Gilead (Jeremiah 8:22). He will bind up the brokenhearted (Isa. 61:1, Luke 4:18).

Adam Clarke says of “After two days will he revive”] Such is his power that in two or three days he can restore us. He can realize all our hopes, and give us the strongest token for good.

He continues, “In the third day he will raise us up”] In so short a time can he give us complete deliverance…Then they who trusted in him could believe that they should be quickened together with him. (Adam Clarke’s Commentary on Hosea 1-2).

Be assured that when God takes you somewhere He knows how to bring you back from where He took you (Jeremiah 29:14). He will never lead you where His grace cannot keep you!
