From Pastor’s Desk:
Hebrews 10:19-20 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body…
Once a year in times past only one man, the High Priest, could enter the Most Holy Place to present the sacrifice for the sins of himself, his family, and all the people. Now any one person can come approach with boldness the throne of God to petition, praise, and worship Him. Now, still only one Man is the reason we can. Once for all time, Jesus entered the Most Holy Place to present a one-time, eternal sacrifice for all mankind. He did not take an animal, but presented Himself as that sacrifice. “Not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood he entered in once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us” (Hebrews 9:12).
When Jesus said, “It is finished” the formidable curtain that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place was torn in two. Matthew (27:51) and Mark (15:38) record that it was torn from top to bottom.
The most significant point of the story, in my opinion, is that mankind has to go through on one else to be reconciled to the Father. The way to the Father has been given by Jesus Christ. In fact, He is the way, and the only way to the Father.
We, as individuals, have open access to God, the Father through God, the Son by God, the Holy Spirit.
