From Pastor’s Desk:
Revelation 3:5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.
“…like them…” refers to the few “…people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments…” of verse 4. The white robes are for those who “…overcame him, by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Rev. 12:11).
Many people think that a one-time repentance is all that is needed. While that is of vital necessity, the Bible is clear that there are many obstacles in life which must be overcome. How many can relate to the times you have had to repent beyond the first time? Of course, we all can! The word “victorious” implies that there is warfare raging wherein battles must be fought and won. It is to the victorious the promise is given that He will not blot out their name from the Book of Life. Those are the ones He will be able to proudly (if I can use that word pertaining to Him) acknowledge before God, the Father and all of heaven.
I desire a white robe, don’t you?
