Eternal Glory

From Pastor’s Desk:

2 Corinthians 4:17 …our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

So much stress, aggravation, exasperation, and fear would be alleviated if we could just believe this. Trials would be so much less troublesome. The verse is basically saying that all we go through here is getting ready for there. Not to make light of the “storms” that arise. Certainly the blows of the “fight” that we feel as we fight the good fight of faith. The “race” is a difficult one, to say the least. Riddled with offsets, crooked paths, and rough terrain is the “course” that is set before us. But as heavy and difficult as they are, Paul says we can count them as “light and ‘momentary” considering what is awaiting us at the end of them all.

The old Andre’ Crouch song comes to mind:
Through it all, through it all
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus
I’ve learned to trust in God
Through it all, through it all
I’ve learned to depend upon His word.

Trust make the load bearable! Trust keeps in sight that “eternal glory that far outweighs” anything we go through here.
