Witnesses of the Fact

From Pastor’s Desk: 7-10-16

Acts 2:32-33 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.

Later, in chapter 4, Peter would tell the leaders (San Hedrin) “Neither is there is salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Shouldn’t we the church be doing and speaking things that are seen and heard? If you’ll examine the discussion in chapter 4, you will find that “when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

Not to undermine education (I wish for more) but some folks think just because they don’t have, or know, much, they can’t be used of God. May I suggest that on the way to learning as much as you can, trash the “I can’t” attitude and take on the “Here I am, Lord, all I have is yours to use” attitude. Peter and John evidently did not have the education the leaders had, yet how The Holy Spirit manifested Himself through them that day.

He can do the same for you, and through you.
