Saints and Sinners, Loved of God

Luke 6:35 …love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. (NASB)

Another Scriptural principle that is much easier said, or read, than done. How many of us, at times, have a hard time loving our family and friends? Yet here Jesus, in His own words, tells us to love our enemy. And then, the audacious statement that God is kind to men who are ungrateful and evil.

The only answer to that is John 3:16. Notice that it says “…loved the WORLD that He gave…” Not just those who attend church, tithe, give offerings, or are active in some aspect of ministry. Could we say then, that God loves the sinner just as much as He loves the believer? The answer, of course, is a resounding “Yes!”

After all, weren’t you and I sinners before we believed?
