From Pastor’s Desk:
While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7 NASB
This Christmas season is about a babe in a manger, but we must realize the reason He was born. He was born to fill the hearts mankind with God’s love.
The world clamors for attention, and, sadly, too many people answers the call. The devil, I believe, has designed a worldly society in which there is no room in the heart, as there was no room in the inn.
The heart that is empty has only but to realize that “…all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The glory of God is that babe in the manger for whom there was no room in the inn. If there is a void all one must do is “…confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, [f]resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, [g]resulting in salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).
Someone has said that the latch to the heart’s door is on the inside. It must be opened from within. Make room in your heart for Jesus Christ. Don’t leave Him standing outside!
