From Pastor’s Desk:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Matthew 6:19-21 NASB
Only one question arises from this verse. Where is your treasure? It is well to store up things of eternal value rather than stuff here. As Paul, the apostle, wrote, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Col. 3:2 NKJV).
I’m convinced that the thing most prohibitive to Christian growth is busyness, that is, people chasing after material goods that show how “successful” they are.
Only one thing will determine success at the end of life: where you will spend eternity. What kind of treasure are you storing up? Are they here or in heaven awaiting you?
