He Just Can’t Help Himself

Sunset over Mountain Range

From Pastor’s Desk:

Isaiah 54:10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

One of the amazing attributes of God is Infallibility. Since He is love (1 John 4.8), He cannot fail to love. A verse of the day from another site is John 3.16, “…God so loved the world…”

Everything and everyone else will pass away but His word shall not pass away (Matthew 24.35; Mark 13.31; Luke 21.33). He is saying through Isaiah what He says through the apostle, Paul, that nothing shall separate us from His love (Romans 8.38, 39).

He loved us when we were unlovely and unlovable. He loves us when we do things for which someone else would turn their back. He loves us when we don’t love ourselves. He loves when all others have forsaken us.

His promise of peace comes from His heart of compassion, which comes from His unfailing love. God loves us: He just can’t help Himself!
