Don’t be Afraid

From Pastor’s Desk:

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

A little lengthy, but maybe someone needs some encouragement today. May I give you a song and a few verses?

His Eye Is On The Sparrow (Why Should I Feel Discouraged)
by Charles Hutchinson Gabriel & Civilla Durfee Martin

Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart be lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion my constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me

Let not your heart be troubled
His tender words I hear
And resting on His goodness
I lose my doubt and fear
Tho’ by the path He leadeth but one step I may see
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me

Whenever I am tempted whenever clouds arise
When songs give place to sighing
When hope within me dies
I draw the closer to Him from care He sets me free
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me
His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me

I sing because I’m happy I sing because I’m free
For His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me

Php_4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Psa 37:1-6 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.

And finally, though somewhat out of context: Psa_30:5 …Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
