One Just as Good as the Other

From Pastor’s Desk:

For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. – Romans 12:3 NASB

Is one person’s measure of faith more or less than another’s? Does one person need more faith than another, if both are facing the same situation? God, from His vantage point of sovereignty, knows how each of us are going to go through a temptation or trial. The trial or temptation first has to come through His hand before it reaches us, and only He knows how we will fare through it all. Remember that He will not allow anything to come upon us more than we are able to bear and will make a way of escape (1 Cor. 10:13). Might it be that this verse is saying that one person is no better than anyone else, and no worse than anyone else?

The lesson is that we should not think of ourselves better than another. God has given them the measure of faith they need, as well as He has given you your measure of faith.
